The Big Stage Rap is a search for the Top Emerging Performers in California. We are looking for Talented Rap Artists that are ready to give it their all and compete for the dream of getting paid to create.

Developed by G.R.I.P (Grounding Relationships in People 501-c3), a non profit corporation organized to serve the vocational and educational needs of Los Angeles communities. As part of our pledge to support the self promoting artist and our commitment to put on the best concert series in LA, we’re launching The Big Stage Voice, Rap, Rock Competition to spread the word and to provide a platform on which the emerging, ambitious, gifted talent of the artistically rich artist can share their gift with not only LA, but with the world.

There are no restrictions on experience level or ability however we anticipate and consistently see some of the best musical performers around. Great stage presence is expected. If you plan on entering please come prepared.

When they walk into Jewel's Catch One electricity should fill the room as they count down to your Cable TV performance being broadcast to millions in the LA basin.

Preliminary Rounds – 5 Weeks of Competition Each artist will perform one (1) time in the first five weeks of their round or cycle (denoted as 1.0, 2.0, 3.0, or 4.0). Each week, the best three (3) performers will be selected to move on to one (1) of four (4) Semi Finals.

Voice - Prepare 2 songs plus a 15 second acapello piece
Rap - 10 min set plus a 30 second freestyle
Rock- 20 min set
Semi Finals – 4 Days of Competition
The Semi Finals will take place over a period of four (4) days
There will be a total of forty five (45) artists – made up of the 3 weekly winners from the 5 previous weeks of competition – fifteen (15) winners from Voice Mondays – fifteen (15) winners from Rap Tuesdays – fifteen (15) winners from Rock Wednesdays Five (5) finalists from each genre – Voice – Rap – Rock – will be chosen to move on to the finals.
Finals – 1 Day of Competition
Our $5000 Grand Prize Winner will be chosen.
4 Runners Up will each book a $500 Paid Gig as a Weekend Headliner in Jewel's Catch One
The remaining 10 Finalists will each book a $300 Paid as a weekend Opening Act in Jewel's Catch One.

ALL Contestants will be featured on Time Warner Cable TV
Your entire performance will be streamed LIVE online worldwide via www.thepalmerroom.com
Each Contestant will receive a 3 Camera DVD shoot of their entire performance – Valued at $2,200
Contestants will also receive:
- Jewel's Catch One VIP Electronic Press Kit and Internet Ad Campaign
- A Digital Photo Package
- A professionally designed flyer for use on in the Web presentation of their music.
- Free Rehearsal Space/Time
- Merchandise table in the venue enabling artists to sell CDs, Shirts, Stickers, etc. to fans.
- A live studio band available to all Voice and Rap Contestants

FREE! The Big Stage is FREE to enter. There are no entrance fees or participation fees.

Have or create a Myspace profile (free) or alternative website.
SHOW UP ON TIME FOR SCHEDULED REHEARSALS AND PERFORMANCES.
For ALL performers, ALL LYRICS MUST BE CLEAN, NO EXCEPTION. Upon being booked, you must be able to come in within 7 days of booking to receive a tour of the venue and pick up tickets and promotional material.
This is a private event and tickets must be purchased beforehand. Each artist will be responsible for a specific amount of tickets for each event they participate in. TICKETS WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE FOR PURCHASE AT THE DOOR. (see breakdown below).
Adhere to dress code rules.
If you win the Preliminary Round, you must be available to play on one of the four (4) dates of your Semi Finals (see “When Does the Competition Take Place” above)
Winners of The Big Stage “Voice” that advance to the Semi Finals & Finals will need to perform live with our house band.
All music must be originals, no cover songs allowed.

Big Stage Rap contestants will be responsible for twenty (20) tickets
Big Stage Voice contestants will be responsible for twenty (20) tickets
Big Stage Rock Bands will be responsible for thirty (30) tickets
