I was born on the eastside of south central in Los Angeles, ca on September 21, 1982. In august of 1988 I moved to Washington D.C. with my mother who attended Howard University. We lived in Georgetown where I attended Anthony Hyde elementary along with Fillmore arts school and the Levine school of music where I learned to play my first musical instrument at the age of 7 . (The upright bass)
At the age of 9 I learned to play the trumpet and the trombone. At the age of 10 I played the upright bass in a performance with Grover Washington at wolf trap. That very same year I played the trumpet in a performance with Bradford Marsalis. In June of 1993 I graduated from Anthony Hyde and attended hardy middle school for one year. In the fall of 1994 I attended Hine Jr. high school, a blue ribbon school of excellence located just a few blocks from Capitol Hill.
In the summer of 1994 I participated in a congressional internship for congressmen McNulty out of the state of New York. In the fall of 1996 I started my 10th grade year at Cardozo sr. high school. In the summer of 1996 I got my first job as a lifeguard for Winkler pool management. UN fortunately I was unable to graduate from Cardozo in June of 2000.
On September 10, 2001 I boarded an Amtrak train called the southwest chief destined for Los Angeles, ca. I watched the events of 9/11 unfold at Chicago’s union station. In June of 2002 I started working at Disneyland. I went back to school and received my G.E.D at bellflower adult high school in June of 2003. On October 7, 2003 my first son was born in Los Angeles, ca. On January 10, 2004 my older brother (Louis Chapple Mobley) and one of my best friends (Brian Elliot Thomas) were murdered while we were attempting to leave a liquor store. I was in the back seat.
In May of 2004 I returned to Washington D.C. because my mother had a massive heart attack, which required her to have open heart surgery. On October 29, 2006 my second son was born at Howard University hospital. In April of 2007 I and my children returned to Los Angeles where we have been living ever since.
