Mr. Chandler began his career as a promoter during the late 1970s in Chicago, Ill. Back then he promoted shows for actors in plays as well as bands and individual vocalist. In 1979 he moved to Los Angeles California as the keyboard player in the band Omarays and played in a number of venues including the Our Place and The Roxy in Hollywood CA.
After obtaining a Masters degree at CSUN and while working on a PhD at Claremont Graduate University, Mr. Chandler landed a job as the GM for BB Kings night club in Universal City Walk. There he began to perfect a business model which focused on an emphasis on elevating and developing the local talent in Southern California. At the end of 2005, Mr. Chandler purchased his first live music venue, BB Kings. In 2006, he began a project called Playastream which, focused on filming local bands and solo artists 7 nights a week and broadcasting their performances in real time live over the internet.
In 2007, he left BB Kings and began booking artists at La Conga in San Pedro, Oxygen Lounge in Tarzana and The Palmer Room in West Los Angeles while still emphasizing filming, and broadcasting the live performance via the internet. On February 1st 2009, Mr. Chandler along with one of his partners purchased "The Palmer Room", where he has began to find a real audience for his live broadcast musical showcases. While at the Palmer Room he has developed several popular shows: "The Big Stage" and "West L.A. Battle of the Bands".
Mr. Chandler's philosophy is simple, "cater to the artist" because as he puts it "the venue cannot exist without the artist and the artist is without a platform without the venue. We must respect the contribution that each brings to the live entertainment field.
